User:Pathoschild/Crackerbunny
The following images were created by Flickr user Crackerbunny. They were uploaded after permission was forwarded to the OTRS permissions queue to relicense them under a Creative Commons license.
However, I have received no response from either Crackerbunny or Xgeorg (who uploaded the images) while attempting to confirm the release. This is necessary to verify the authenticity of the forwarded confirmation.
They have been marked as having invalid licensing.

Discussion[edit]
I do not agree with this practice - I send you not only once a forward of the message from Crackerbunny. This message allows the usage under 'CC-BY-Sa-2.5' - so where is the problem? --Xgeorg 07:08, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- It is unfortunately easy to write a fake message releasing copyright with a fake "Forwarded message:" line. Some users do this deliberately because they just want to keep the images regardless of copyright. For legal reasons, we must receive a verifiable release; for example, an email from the author or an updated copyright notice on the images. I tried to contact the author for confirmation, but received no response after more than two weeks. The license on the original page also remains unchanged. Therefore, we cannot accept the release in the permissions archive. —Pathoschild 00:51:53, 03 August 2007 (UTC)
- I did not fake the answer of the author. --Xgeorg 07:19, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- While I don't doubt your good intentions, "the unrelated uploader said it was okay" is not a a very good guarantee to redistributors who want a reliable repository, nor is it a good defense against lawsuit. If you can ask the copyright holder to respond to my email, we will be able to confirm the copyright release. —Pathoschild 17:35:56, 03 August 2007 (UTC)
- This seems like simply a WP:AGF issue to me.. IrisKawling 16:37, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

It seems that Xgeorg has since created a flickr account [1] and re-uploaded these images which he previously acknowledged as being created by third parties as reflected by the deleted image pages, but now he claims to be the author and that they are freely licensed. Looks like flickr washing to me. --Gmaxwell (talk) 20:30, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
