player identification starcraft 2[edit]

Hi there, I tried to help a little recently with categorizing esports player pictures. I just stumbled upon File:RiSky at HomeStory Cup XV - 04.jpg and File:RiSky at HomeStory Cup XV - 05.jpg. You uploaded these and they are supposed to show RiSky. However I'm like 99% certain its Category:PtitDrogo. Its hard to find any pics of Risky on the www this is the only I found at first glance but they dont really look alike. Since I'm not 100% sure I thought its better to ask, if you agree feel free to move and rename the pictures in question. Regards User:Tmv23 (talk) 08:01, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Tmv23: I'm inclined to agree, thanks for catching that! – Pbrks (t • c) 00:16, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
quick follow up: how do you feel about Category:Esports players from Seoul? It seems like its hard to find place of birth for lots of Korean players, and those two surely arent the only ones from Seoul. You think we should get rid of the category or double down and create Esports players from Busan etc. as well? Regards User:Tmv23 (talk) 23:11, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Tmv23: Personally, I don't think it adds any value to subcategorize any further past "from South Korea". And like you said, actually finding, and verifying, that information would be difficult. I'd be all for deleting the "from Seoul" category. – Pbrks (t • c) 00:05, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
alright. I replaced the Seoul category for both players, feel free to delete the Seoul category (id have to look up how to do exactly), also i just realized you introduced a new class of categories for a players team and got to letter C so far. I wont interfere with that, I probably wont have much time to edit stuff now on the weekend anyways, so lets just see how far youve by start of next week. :D User:Tmv23 (talk) 01:03, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Tmv23: Yes, I saw that you were categorizing players into their teams' categories (thanks for starting that!), and figured it would be a good idea. I got to C... for just League of Legends players, so its gonna take a bit of time to get it all done. Of course, you're more than welcome to help when you have time! – Pbrks (t • c) 04:52, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Plus: File:FireZerg at 2013 MLG Spring Championship.jpg, File:Hendralisk at 2013 MLG Spring Championship.jpg — looks like the same person to me, I assume both of these photos are picturing hendralisk Facenapalm (talk) 17:05, 5 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Facenapalm: You're right, fixed! – Pbrks (t • c) 00:40, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
to clarify our modus operandi: if a player has played for a couple of (huge/relevant) Teams -- say A1 B2 and C3 -- we now add Category:A1 player, Category:B2 player and Category:C3 player to his Category (or even the division if he plays for EG) , but do we still add additional Category:B2 player to a certain picture where the player has a B2 jersey on or is that considered redundant then? User:Tmv23 (talk) 00:23, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Tmv23: Yes, if Category:Player X is a subcategory of Category:Team A Players, then no images in Category:Player X should be in Category:Team A Players, as that would be overcategorization. However, an image may still be categorized with Category:Team A at EVENT or Category:Team A in 20XX, e.g. Category:Evil Geniuses in 2012 and Category:Evil Geniuses at The International 2018. – Pbrks (t • c) 01:03, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you for uploading StarCraft photos[edit]

Was planning to upload a couple of Flickr albums to Commons and noticed you've already processed all of them. That's insane amount of work. Thanks for your dedication and effort. Facenapalm (talk) 00:59, 5 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Facenapalm: Thanks, it certainly did take a bit of time :) – Pbrks (t • c) 13:29, 5 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
